Semana Santa (Holy Week)
13-20 April, 2025
Easter celebrations in Alicante begin on the Friday before Palm Sunday, when the Christ of the Sea arrives at the port in a boat escorted by the port police.
Until Easter Sunday, 28 processions make their way in the historical centre, including the official Palm Sunday procession, Morenet, known as the 'patron saint of sailors'; the Santa Cruz attracting the largest crowds; and the Last Supper, with a monumental float that requires nearly 200 bearers.
Spring Music Festival 30-31 May, 2025
The Spring Music Festival brings a mix of pop, hip-hop and electronic artists to Alicante. Known for its energetic atmosphere and impressive line-up, this festival is the perfect way to kick off the summer season.
Hogueras de San Juan 21-24 June, 2025
The festival of giant figures dedicated to midsummer.
The papier-mâché sculptures are designed and created by the neighbourhoods of Alicante and each year the best of the best is chosen.
The rest of the figures are burned in a bonfire on the beach. The unforgettable and spectacular event!
